State Gives Out Supplies, Tips for Post-Sandy Recovery and Summer in Point Pleasant Beach Friday

The state health dept. will be at Stop & Shop, Route 35 South

 

State Health Commissioner Mary O’Dowd and Ocean County Health Department Outreach will be doling out free supplies and tips on Friday to those trying to recover from Superstorm Sandy and get ready for summer.

O'Dowd and the county Health Department and its Mobile Outreach Vehicle will be at Stop & Shop, Route 35 South from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. Friday (today). They will distribute free masks, gloves, hand sanitizers and packets of educational materials on mold remediation, safe swimming and protecting yourself against West Nile Virus this summer.

Free Tetanus boosters will also be available.

O'Dowd will join county Health Officer Dan Regenye and his team in their continuing effort to respond to the needs of the shore communities that are working hard to recover from Superstorm Sandy.

Tips for cleaning Mold Include:

  • Wear rubber boots, rubber gloves, goggles and a mask
  • Open windows and doors to get fresh air when you use cleaning products
  • Never mix bleach with ammonia or other cleaners
