Davis, Corbally, Vogel and Toohey to Run in Point Beach

Former Mayor Tom Vogel and Tom Toohey run on GOP slate; Incumbent Councilman Michael Corbally and Tom Davis run as Democrats

 

Former Mayor Tom Vogel and newcomer Tom Toohey will run on the Republican slate for two, three-year council seats in Point Pleasant Beach, according to the municipal clerk's office.

Democratic Incumbent Councilman Michael Corbally will run for reelection on a slate with Tom Davis, who ran unsuccessfully last year as an Independent.

Vogel, who lives on Ocean Avenue in District 4, was a councilman in 2003 and mayor from 2004 through 2007.

Toohey, a newcomer, lives on Cramer Avenue in District 2.

Corbally lives on Lake Terrace, off Niblick Street, in District 4 and Davis lives on Trenton in District 2.

The other seat up for grabs is now held by Kristine Tooker, a registered Republican who ran as an Independent the last time she was elected. Tooker could not be reached for comment immediately to find out if she is running, but an update will be posted when information becomes available.

The deadline for Democrats and Republicans to run in the June 4 primary was 4 p.m. Monday. However, Independent candidates have until the date of the primary to file with the county clerk's office.
