Readers' Choice Winner: The Purple Iris

Petal Street Flower Co. is first runner-up

Well, that was interesting.

After a week of frenzied voting, when and were often neck-and-neck or darn close to it, Purple Iris won.

Purple Iris received 494 votes, or 60 percent of the total vote of 814, and Petal Street got 294 votes or 36 percent of the total vote, which is quite a respectable showing considering Petal Street has not been around nearly as long as Purple Iris and some of the other local florists.

Please see the voting box below for complete results.

No matter which florist is your favorite, keep in mind that it's nearly May, which means Mother's Day is around the corner, May 13, to be precise. And prom will be here before you know it too.

So if flowers or plants are your gift of choice for Mom or Grandma, or if you'll need a corsage to give someone for prom, it's best to order soon.

Thanks to all who voted and commented and thanks always for reading Patch!

O'Brien's Has been around for a long time (previously known as Stamos). Local people, contributers to the community and caring individuals for those good times and most importantly, for those terrible times when we need them the most to be there with quality and understanding. No question; the BEST. .

Petal Street Flower Company all the way. If you've ever had the privilege of watching Christine while she works, you can see the incredible creativity taking place. I don't know how she does it, but somehow, she manages to heighten the natural beauty of each bloom with her talent. I've trusted her with both my wedding flowers, and the arrangements for family funerals and couldn't have been more satisfied. My only regret is that I couldn't take her with me when I moved out of state! Best of luck Christine and Joe!

I work with the Purple Iris for all my parties, both corporate and private functions and I have to say hands down the best Florist I have experienced, and I have used them all! Trish, Frank and all the girls there are top notch, very dedicated to the work they do. If its as little as a single rose or an entire party I need, its always done in a timely fashion and with the best quality of work.. I am from Texas and have been using them for the past 3 years, yet to be disappointed. Good luck guys.

I always use Purple Iris. I live 15 minutes away but will always travel to them. Service is amazing. Every year for my wedding anniversary my husband gets me flowers to replicate my bouquet. Patricia knows exactly what he wants whenever he calls. They are amazing!
