Board of Education Race Contested in Point Boro, But Not in Point Beach

Two incumbents compete against three others for Point Boro seats

Five candidates, including two incumbents, are running for two, three-year seats on the Point Pleasant Borough Board of Education.

Incumbents John MacDermant, Morris Avenue, and Regina Foley, Bayberry Avenue, are challenged by Tim Harrison, Cedar Street; James Barber, Middle Avenue; and Susan Ward, Riverwood Avenue.

In Point Pleasant Beach, Phyllis Thomson, Forman Avenue, is not running for re-election. Beth Keefe, Bay Avenue, is the lone candidate for one, three-year seat.

The proposed school tax levies will also be on the ballot on election day.

In the borough,the board is going to give a public presentation on the proposed budget at 7 p.m. March 14 and will hold a public hearing and vote on the budget at 7 p.m. March 28. Both meetings will be at Ocean Road School.
