Boro Falls to Voorhees in NJSIAA Baseball Playoffs
Panthers score three runs but fall in Central Jersey Group II
The Point Boro baseball team scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning, but it wasn't enough to overcome host Voorhees yesterday in the NJSIAA playoffs.
The Panthers (11-14), seeded 16th, scored on a two-run home run by Terence Berkeley and an RBI single by Ryan Prout, but the Vikings (13-10) stopped the rally and earned the victory to move on in Central Jersey Group II.
Point Boro, which upset top-seeded Middlesex on Thursday, fell behind quickly, as Voorhees scored four runs in the first inning. Tyler Duplaga hit a two-run home run, and the Vikings scored two more runs as the result of Point Boro errors.
