Substitute Teacher Training at OCC

By attending a Substitute Teacher Training Institute, School Relations at Ocean County College can help you prepare to become a substitute teacher in just two days. This 12-hour training seminar helps prospective substitute teachers prepare for a smooth entrance into the classroom.

The seminar is held on two consecutive days: Friday from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Room 17, Library (Building #3), OCC Main Campus, College Drive, Toms River, NJ.

The registration deadline is one week prior to the start date of class.

To qualify to become a substitute teacher, candidates must hold a minimum of 60 college credits (official transcript), successfully undergo a criminal background check, and provide evidence of a negative Mantoux test.

Cost: $200.  Purchase textbook (approx. $10) at OCC Bookstore prior to first session.
