Public school district also announces two days added to end of June

There will be no weeklong spring break in April, although students will still have off on Mon. April 1, the day after Easter.

Also, two days will be added on to the end of the school year in June, and there will be other changes, all to make up for the eight days of school closures just after Sandy ripped through town, according to the district website.

The schools were closed for two weeks, which normally would have meant 10 days of no school. However, two of those days, Nov. 8 and 9, had been planned as days off for the annual taachers' convention in Atlantic City. The convention was cancelled due to Sandy but Borough schools remained closed.

The schedule changes, according to the PDF on the website (and attached to this story) are:

Jan. 21 and Feb. 15: Half day for students and full day for staff

April 2-5: Full days for students and staff

The last day of school has been changed from Fri. June 14 to Tues. June 18.

The schedule is subject to change again if there is additional inclement weather.
