In addition, first place prizes will be awarded to winners in each age group.

There are six age group classifications: 14 and younger, 15-19, 20-34, 35-49, 50-64, and 65 and up.

There are also raffle prizes for walkers. The course is flat, and water stations will be provided.

The Foundation is urging participation from all classes that have attended the Point Beach High School, both past and present.

It is hoped that each class is represented by an entry (or entries) from that class, or by a proxy runner sponsored by the class.

The cost for entry is $20 for early registration before Oct. 7, or $25 for registration received on or after Oct. 8.

Those not running are asked to send a contribution. Donations of $100 or more will be considered a "sponsorship" and will be publicly acknowledged at race festivities.

Checks should be made out to PPBPEF and mailed or dropped off to Marygrace Kirsch at the Point Pleasant Beach Board of Education Office, 299 Cooks Lane Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.

Please note on check that the tax-deductible contribution is part of the 5K Run/Walk.

Applications are available on the district web site.

All questions may be directed to Marygrace Kirsch at 732-899-1101, or kirschm@ptbeach.com.

The foundation strives to serve the needs of all students in the district in the areas of academics, athletics and the arts, according to a prepared statement from the foundation. Most recently, the foundation played a key role in the renovation of the district’s athletic complex.

Participation in this fun and beneficial event will enable the foundation to continue its mission of providing the best possible all around education to our students, the statement says.
