Point Beach High School Fall Clothing Drive Coming Up Oct. 7 and 8

Fundraiser for high school band and other music programs

Got too much stuff?

The Point Beach Music Parents Association wants it, to help raise money for the high school band and other music programs.

Bring all your unwanted (but usable) clothing, blankets, comforters, shoes, linens, stuffed toys, and even small appliances to Point Pleasant Beach High School Music Parents Association's annual Fall Clothing Drive on Oct. 7 and 8.

"With your support and involvement, we can keep the music going at the Beach High School for many years to come!" says a flier from the organization.

Revenue is used to help various high school music programs, including band; teacher and secretary appreciation for staff who works with and helps band and music students; scholarships and end-of-the-year banquets.

Residents are asked to drop off items between 3 and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 8.

The organization is asking all donors to drop off items at a different location than prior years. The new location is the mini-gym entrance on Forman Avenue near the tennis courts.

The organization is asking all donors to use heavy black bags and please make sure there are no hangers in the bags.

Other upcoming music program fundraisers are the Annual Election Night Spaghetti Dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 8. Ticket prices are: $10 for adults; $8 for senior citizens and students and $6 for children. Those purchased through pre-sale are $1 less.
