Point Beach Wrestlers Knocked Out of State Team Tournament

Five Garnet Gulls record pins in the defeat

Point Beach wrestlers recorded five pins, but it wasn't enough as Bordentown recorded four straight pins from 170 pounds to 220 for a 45-30 victory in the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group I team wrestling tournament on Monday night.

Point Beach (12-7) held a 24-21 lead after junior Dan Tighe pinned Bordentown's Cody Carr in 1:08 at 160 pounds. But Bordentown answered with four straight pins to settle the match.

Senior Rob Finnerty, a District 23 placewinner last year, improved to 26-1 with his 38-second pin of John Gravener at 138 pounds.
