Point Boro H.S. Band Boosters Does Clothing Drive

Proceeds go to scholarships

The Point Borough High School Band Boosters are collecting everything from clothing to bicycles for their upcoming fundraiser.

All proceeds go to the Band Booster scholarship fund.

The Boosters are collecting used clothing, shoes (bagged separately), handbags, belts, hats, linens, backpacks, briefcases, stuffed animals, games, hard toys like cars, trucks, airplanes, actions figures, dolls and doll houses.

Hard toys must be able to fit into a box 24" X24" X 21."

All items must be tied in plastic bags, except for toys and games which should be in boxes.

The organization cannot accept oversized toys, strollers, high chairs, cribs, furniture, books, VCR tapes, CDs, walkers, swings and play centers. 

Pick up is Tues. Oct. 25th from 5 to 7 p.m., Thurs. Oct. 27th from 5 to 7 p.m., Sat. Oct. 29th from 9 -11 a.m. and Sun. Oct. 30 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the high school band door, which faces Panther Path.

The Boosters has an arrangement with Fashion Republic to pay the organization for the donations, said Liz Falabella, a Booster official.

Fashion Republic will weigh all donations and the boosters will be paid by the pound.

A truck is scheduled to pick up all donations promptly at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 30.

All items are distributed to people in need both locally and globally, said Falabella.
