A gift auction will start at about 5 p.m., with drawings to be held during the dinner which begins at 7 p.m.

Guests will also have chances to win several prizes, including two, one-year memberships at Woodlake.

The day starts at noon with check-in, access to the driving range, a putting contest and golf  beginning with a “shotgun start” at 2 p.m.

"Mr. Stacy was an exceptional man, kind-hearted, hard-working and always willing to go that 'extra mile' for anyone," according to a prepared statement from fund officials.

"Mr. Stacy supported his daughter, as well as all of the students in the Point Pleasant High School performing arts programs, and volunteered as his son’s baseball coach," the statement says. "He devoted much time and effort to these programs all in the spirit of giving."

"The Michael Stacy Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in his name to support the students in the Borough High School Competition Band that exhibit the generosity of spirit that Michael always showed," the statement says.

Each year a scholarship will be awarded to at least two color guard members and/or instrumentalists in the Competition Band who are seniors.

"These students will be selected for demonstrating special spirit and leadership qualities that are reminiscent of Mr. Stacy’s commitment to the program," the statement says.

"As Michael was an avid golfer, this outing was conceived as the primary fundraiser to support the scholarship fund in his memory," the statement says.

Stacy was survived by his wife, Michelle, his daughter, Meaghan, who was the first recipient of the scholarship last year and is now a college freshman in Towson, MD., and his son, Nicolas, an eighth grader at Memorial Middle School.

The scholarship fund committee is also looking for businesses and benefactors to sponsor the event with advertising at the club, dinner, golf tees and others.
