“Our annual triathlon is one of our biggest fundraisers held each year” says Jim Dempsey, foundation president. “Without the support of our community and racers, we wouldn’t be able to support the school district in the many ways that we do. It is our privilege to give back to them.”

Through the generosity of many others over the past 14 years, the Point Pleasant Foundation for Excellence in Education has raised and distributed more than $350,000 to the Point Pleasant School District in the form of new computers and playground equipment, leadership grants and higher-education scholarships to outstanding students, teacher-recognition awards, and teacher/student new-program grants.

The Foundation members are parents, alumni, and corporate and community leaders.

This past summer, the foundation sponsored the Point Pleasant School district’s Summer Reading  Dream Big - Read! for children and Own The Night for teens in cooperation with the Ocean County library by providing the winning reader from each school a new Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet.
