Former Gull Star Reischel to Transfer

After one year at Rice, wants to be closer to home

Former phenom Jarelle Reischel announced this week his intention to transfer from Rice University.

After for three years Reischel was one of the most highly recruited players in the Shore Conference before selecting the Texas school. He finished as the all time leading scorer in Point Beach history and was named the top player in the conference and also brought the prestigious Kerwin Award to the home of the Gulls.

A press release from Rice said he made the decision based on a desire to be closer to home. After starting 13 of the 34 games he played in with Rice Reischel averaged a little over five points and two rebounds per game in his rookie season.
