Paninis For The Panthers

Sandwich shop hosts fundraiser for Point Boro girls basketball team

Supporters of the Point Borough girls' basketball team can help the team take a bite out of its fundraising goals this Friday.

From the time the shop, opens at 7 a.m. until it closes at 9 p.m., every panini, every salad, every soup sold will help the Panthers get a step closer to their fundraising goals.

Owner David Hamilton said the shop, 3126 Bridge Ave., Point Pleasant, will be donating 10 percent of the day's gross proceeds to the team, whose coach, David Drew, was a high school friend of Hamilton's.

"I'm proud to be able to support the team," Hamilton said. "We like to be active with schools, clubs and organizations."

Hamilton also noted that Hot Off The Press offers a student special: $6 gets you a choice of one of eight paninis, chips and a soda.
