Andre Cochran scored three touchdowns as Point Beach beat New Egypt 32-14 in Plumsted on Friday night to advance to the semifinals of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group I football playoffs.
Cody Coleman scored on a 10-yard run for the Garnet Gulls (7-2-0), and Cochran scored twice -- on a 10-yard run and a 30-yard pass from Christian Martino -- as Beach took a 24-0 lead at halftime.
New Egypt scored both its touchdowns in the third quarter, but the Gulls shut them down the rest of the way. Cochran's third touchdown, a 4-yard run in the fourth quarter, sealed the game.
