Rampone and Jersey Girls Come Home to Play Thursday Night

Christie Rampone and other Jersey Girls on the US Women's Soccer Team come home to play tonight.

"After a convincing 4-1 victory against Korea Republic on June 15 in Foxborough, Mass., the U.S. Women’s National Team will wrap up the two-game set Thursday night at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. in a match that will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET live on NBC Sports Network," according to the US Soccer website (see link below).

The U.S. roster features six players from New Jersey so the June 20 match will be a homecoming for Christie Rampone (Point Pleasant), Heather O’Reilly (East Brunswick), Carli Lloyd (Delran), Yael Averbuch (Upper Montclair), Tobin Heath (Basking Ridge), and Jill Loyden (Vineland).

In addition, defender Crystal Dunn hails from Rockville Centre, N.Y. There will definitely be some loud cheers for the homes state players while Rampone and defender Kelley O’Hara both play for Sky Blue FC in the NWSL.

Fans can also follow along on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker and on Twitter at @ussoccer_WNT. Left back and Boston area native Kristie Mewis scored her first international goal against the South Koreans, followed by scores from Lauren Cheney, Carli Lloyd and Abby Wambach (from the penalty spot) to give the USA a comfortable victory.
