Help Fight Hunger; Bring Food to Summerfest

Non-perishable food will be collected for Move for Hunger and the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean counties

Everyone thinks about hunger during the holidays, but few people realize that the most difficult time for struggling families is during the summer months when children who normally receive subsidized lunches are home from school.

That’s why Move For Hunger is teaming up with The Passion Group to collect non-perishable food items at area festivals this summer.

“Hunger is not on most people’s minds while they are relaxing on the beach,” says Adam Lowy, executive director of Move For Hunger. “But the truth is that the summer holidays can be an extremely trying time for struggling families. Kids who normally receive free or subsidized lunches are home from school, which puts extra pressure on the supplies of local area food banks.”
