Seaside Heights Boardwalk To Re-open May 10; Beach Date Awaits

Boardwalk slated to re-open May 10; beach badges now on sale

Seaside Heights officials say they hope to re-open the boardwalk on May 10, but they have no set date for the beaches.

Michael Graichen, special events spokesperson for Seaside Heights, said the boardwalk rebuilding process continues, with May 10 set as the target date.

He said the beach ramps need to be completed so the beach can re-open soon afterward.

"When they start the ramps, that'll follow right behind," he said.

Beach badges are now on sale Saturdays and Sundays till 3 p.m. at the Borough Hall.

Locals were excited to see Mayor Bill Akers drill in the first boards of Seaside Heights's new boardwalk, which took place at a ceremony held outside of the Beachcomber last month.

Lucy, my family has been Seaside Park residents since the 1930's. The love I have for the Jersey Shore goes through to my soul...it will never be the same but spewing hate won't help.

Jerzymom, it appears you are not very popular on this site. You need to be a little sensitive to other people's feelings.
