Week Ahead: Jazz Festival, Farmers Market, Council Meeting

Free concerts will be held Thursday evening and Saturday in Point Borough

A Farmers' Market in Point Beach on Sunday, Point Boro Council on Tuesday, a free concert on Thursday evening and an all-day jazz and blues festival on Saturday are all coming up this week.

A Farmers' Market will be held in the Borden's parking lot, between Route 35 South and Bay avenues, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays (including today) through Sept. 29. Fresh produce and honey from local farms will be for sale. To see the market's Facebook page, click here.

The Point Borough Council will hold a 7 p.m. meeting at Borough Hall, Bridge Avenue. Click here to see the agenda.

On Thursday night, the Fins will perform live at Riverfront Park, River Road and Maxson Avenue, Point Borough, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. This will be the first in a series of free Thursday evening, summer concerts at the park on the Manasquan River.

On Saturday, also at Riverfront Park, the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Festival will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Admission is free. The event features lots of live bands, a diverse array of food vendors, a beer and wine garden and, of course, children can play on the swing set and climbing equipment that's in the park all the time.
