Fireworks show will also be held Thursday night

Fresh off his selection the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, Yankees pitcher Dellin Betances will appear in Point Pleasant Beach on Thursday as part of a "Real Big Summer" program sponsored by Pepsi.

The big day at Jenkinson's Boardwalk will include Betances' appearance, a four-story high, world record claw machine with larger-than-life prizes including a beach house rental, an iHeart radio festival ticket package, among others. The day will also include a surprise for a United Way family recovering from Superstorm Sandy.

There will also be a fireworks display at 9 p.m.

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. on the boardwalk, organizers said in a statement.
