Bonfire Social in Point Beach on Sat.

S'mores, bonfire, games and more

A Bonfire Social featuring food, s'mores, games and other fun, family activities will be held Saturday at the Maryland Avenue Beach, Point Beach.

The event, weather permitting, is scheduled for 2 to 9 p.m. at the beach on Maryland Avenue, off Beacon Lane and Ocean Avenue on the south end of town.

The event features a volleyball tournament, sandcastle building contest, hamburger sliders from on Bay Avenue, Point Beach, a roaring bonfire, and everyone making their own s'mores.

The Point Beach Recreation Committee, which is planning and sponsoring the family event, is asking those participating to bring graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows, roasting sticks, chairs and blankets.

The committee is also hoping some residents volunteer with setting up, running the event and cleaning up afterwards to leave the beach nice and clean.

Parking is limited, so the committee is encouraging residents to car pool, bike or walk.

Those attending are asked to not bring any alcoholic beverages.

The attached photographs were shot at the Memorial Day weekend bonfire from the beginning of this summer.

I doubt it. People love to complain :) Myself included I suppose.

Too bad. I don't complain where it will do no good. I do complain when it can change things for theRead More better. Don't waste your time or be negative.
