Jersey Mike's Hosts Third Annual "Christmas in July" Fundraiser

Jersey Mike's hosts their third annual fundraiser to help put wreaths on headstones of fallen soldiers

will celebrate their third annual “Christmas in July” fundraiser until July 15 by asking customers to donate to the cause.

Jersey Mike’s will collect and match all donations for Wreaths Across America (WAA), a non-profit organization that lays thousands of wreaths at the graves of fallen veterans on December 15, National Wreaths Across America Day.

And if Jersey Mike’s gets 100,000 “likes” on their Facebook page, the company will donate an additional $25,000 to the organization.

Customers can easily donate to the cause by selecting a $1, $3 or $5 tear-off sheet and presenting it at the register at Jersey Mike's shops (see list of towns with stores at end of story).

“As we celebrate our nation’s independence, Jersey Mike’s proudly joins and supports Wreaths Across America in its mission to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and their families and teach our children the value of freedom,” Jersey Mike’s Founder and CEO Peter Cancro said.

Last year, Jersey Mike’s raised $100,000, which helped WAA place 90,000 wreaths. This year they hope to raise enough to place 225,000 wreaths.

“We hope to raise enough money for Wreaths Across America to place a wreath at every fallen hero’s headstone at Arlington National Cemetery,” Cancro said.
Jersey Mike’s will air a video of a concert organized to raise awareness for WAA in each of its restaurants during the two-week promotion

The video features performances from country singer Corey Wagar, Broadway star Mary D’Arcy, the Liberty Bells and the 63rd Army Band, as well as Holiday Express, a group of musical volunteers. The video also includes a personal appeal from Cancro asking customers to support the cause.

Thank you so much. My fiance is currently deployed and our best friends lost their son Adam Leigh Cann in Iraq a few years ago. What a great idea and smart to do it now before the holidays.
Respectfully Suzi, granddaughter of Teresa the cold cut lady who knew John from way back when you opened on the corner of Trenton and Arnold.
