Point Beach First Aid Squad Holds Monster Run Fundraiser Oct. 29

The Second Annual 5K Monster Run will be held at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29 in Point Beach.

Registration begins at 9 a.m.

The event is a fundraiser for the Point Pleasant First Aid and Emergency Squad, 611 Laurel Ave., Point Beach, which serves Point Beach, Bay Head and Mantoloking.

The run begins on the Point Beach boardwalk by Jenkinson's Aquarium, runs north to the Inlet, then south through town and ends back at the aquarium (see attached map).

Last year the event drew more than 225 runners and hundreds of spectators.

Residents are encouraged to decorate their houses, play spooky music and cheer on runners.

Those registering by Monday pay $20. After Monday, registration is $25.

The run is followed by a party at Jenkinson's.
