Point Beach Summer Social Event Cancelled, Weather Concerns Cited

Saturday's social event at VFW Post 4715 postponed, due to likely inclement weather

A Summer Social event that by the Point Pleasant Beach Recreation Committee at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4715 on Saturday has been cancelled, according to a Recreation Committee member.

The event was scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. at the post at 603 St. Louis Ave., Point Beach this Saturday, but committee member Michael Ramos explained that weather forecasts for that evening were the deciding factor in calling off the social.

“The Recreation Committee apologizes for the last minute notice,” said Ramos.

However, Ramos did add that the Recreation Committee is planning to “enhance” their Labor Day Weekend Bonfire at the Maryland Avenue Beach, into an end-of-summer social event, with more information on that new idea forthcoming.

“In addition, due to the tremendous success of our Family Fishing Night, we are working on planning another one for August,” said Ramos, of the Recreation Committee’s future plans.
