I went there on 10/15/11 with 3 of my friends for a microdermabrasion facial and a massage. We were not asked what type of massage we wanted and were all given deep tissue massages. At one point during my massage, my leg jumped and the therapist said "I guess I got that spot, I'm almost finished in that area". I was not asked if it was painful. Figuring she knew what she was doing, I allowed her to finish. Uncomfortable the next day and by Monday morning, it took me 20 minutes to get out of bed. Had to literally crawl to my bathroom. Could not go to work because of the excruciating pain in my back. I called another massage therapy business and they were able to take me in that night. The therapist told me that my back felt like beef jerkey. Long story short, I called Minding the Body and spoke to the owner. She said she was sorry and told me that I could come in for another massage at her expense. She never offered to pay for the other massage I had to get in order to fix some of the damage done. I would never go back to a spa that put me in that condition even for a free massage. BTW, this spa package was purchased from Groupon. Advertisied a "30 minute massage". It did not state that it is a Deep Tissue Massage.

As soon as you enter this day spa, you are greeted by the owner, Susan, who welcomes you to a relaxing atmosphere. It is located in downtown Point Pleasant Beach and specializes in massages, facials, acupuncture, colon hydrotherapy, and air brush tanning. The spa has eight treatment rooms, all lit with candles for a relaxing and calming experience. Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments are required on Sundays.

I went there May 3rd or 4th. It was in the afternoon. I just wanted a fast massage,about 20/30 minutes. I was unaware that you use cheap baby oil instead of a lavender or some other professional massage oil/lotion. I left there so greasy, even after I was wiped w/a hot towel. My neck,chest and face broke out like a 12 year old. I have a rash on my neck thats just clearing up, still a little bumpy. I am so disappointed and disgusted. I have never felt this way using Healing Spirits close to my house. It was a spur of the moment thing going to this place because I was shopping in the area. I thought most massage places were the same, I was wrong.
i bought a groupon for a deep tissue massage and facial. It was the best massage I ever had, She was a blonde russian girl, Then Suzann the Owner gave me my first facial. She said my nose needed to be cleaned from all the blackheads. We decided to skip the facial part and she got my nose totally cleaned up. She gave me a sample of stuff to put on my nose. The room I wasn in was totally cool,,, it was red!
