it's precisely the place to talk about legalization. We wouldn't have our police spending time andRead More risking lives, and spending huge sums to take out m j distribution rings, because there wouldn't be any more of them left. This cop is lucky to be alive. What about the next time? and what about the millions spent on enforcing these laws which are barbaric. if an adults prefers m j to more harmful Alchohol, why are our police involved?
Coffeenut April 23, 2014 at 03:16 pm
Chris you are wrong once again. Law is to furnish proof of insurance which I did. The crooked copRead More should not have issued a ticket. And secondly, regarding the cell phone ticket. Why is it ok for cops to endanger lives when they break that law? With no penalty? Ha! Use common sense moron. And FRAZEYP thank you! Finally a voice of reason here besides mine! Whew! People don't understand that this old out-dated law CAUSES crime and violence!

when someone passes away, we all are questioned with what could have we done for them to help orRead More prevent it or what if i was there a little bit sooner... now we have a prevention for a chance for a better life, a preventative and you that ignorant... know one knows what brought them down this road of darkness. what drove them to put a needle in their arm. Or what drives people to their own vices. But to loose hope is terrible. These are teens and young lost adults who loose hope in themselves and self medicate and become sick with the dependency of this drug same as any addiction. As for the drug dealers they should be put away for life for all i care.

Oh to waste of DNA and other compounds that make up a living organism, the humanoid that calls themRead More self "letsgetreal" is a living example of never underestimate the power of human stupidity. I bet your black and white ivory tower must be a neat pace to live and the small slice of the universe you see is extrapolated to fill the void. Drug use, drug sales and abuse do not fit into your cookie cutter simplistic world view. You want to end this mess, stop the failed war on drugs. Get the criminal element out of the high profit business. Prohibition lead to the growth of the mafia. Make drugs unprofitable to the gangsters and the world as you know it will change for the better.

Why on earth would anyone go to AP for drugs when there is an abundant supply in Maple Leaf Park? Just wondering....

There is no doubt when police officers are visible , it would certainly be a deterrent to crime! IRead More agree with placing NJ State Police in high crime areas, I just don't know how well they are equipped to handle crimes other than traffic stops and protection of Gov. Christie! These state police officers although very highly trained, rarely deal with domestic violence, street or bar brawls, burglaries in progress, stabbings and shootings all within an urban environment. I am not trying to demean The NJ State Police but just stating the fact that they lack the experience that an urban police officer has!
Mr. Happy April 23, 2014 at 03:32 pm
Hi Linda - when the State Police are tasked to one of the cities (Newark, Trenton, Camden,Read More Irvington), they go in as a pro-active force, not re-active; that is to say, they won't be engaging in the response to domestics, bar brawls, etc. The mission is to initiate criminal investigations thru contact with potential violators in high crime areas. It works, at least in the short term.

Speedy trial? Define speedy. Charles Manson and company committed the Tate/LaBianca murders inRead More 1969. The trial wasn’t until two years later. It took over a year before Jack Ruby went on trial for shooting Oswald. And the entire nation saw him do that on TV. The infamous Boston Strangler was caught in early 1964 but wasn’t sentenced until 1967. Its only on Law & Order that it goes from commission of the crime to sentencing in an hour.

Old Guy, Come on...Do you read the news? We have a bunch of entitled young ladies and gentsRead More thinking they can do whatever they want in todays game courtesy of their parents and the schools for only some is how it goes. They were raised to be brats from their parents and the "Beach School System is known for their laid back approach" Let only some of the kids get away with anything and allow any kid into their schools as long as they pay. What happened to only accepting the best and brightest? What a joke that is. Nothing changed from them to now other then she went to far and no longer is protected by her club. @Dan. Thanks for responding .:) sorry for the delay on my behalf.... well here it goes..... I pledgeRead More to continue be the noble man I am. And continue to help my community fight the war on drugs. Thankyou for acknowledging my position as member of the "neighborhood watch" program. I do tend to keep my eyes open for anything suspicious. I would like to make one note that I couldn't imagine walking a mile in a doper's shoes. Sounds like a bad idea. And sounds dangerous. If your walking that path I recommend you get the proper treatment. Before its too late. Remember "once a doper always a doper" . Keep your soft spot, but be wise. "Very nice" night

I heard of "once a Marine, always a Marine," but sorry I've never heard that saying:Read More "once a doper always a doper"... must be new.
Laura April 22, 2014 at 10:45 am
@dan p it's nice to see there are others out there who are as open minded and understanding asRead More yourself. I agree, jail time is not going to make this mans situation any better, if anything it will make it worse. The only thing you get out of jail are connects and more street smarts (and not the good kind). These people need to be ordered to get the help they need, and the help needs to be made mute easily obtainable and affordable! Instead if wasting the money on locking these people up we need to focus on the root of the problem! most addicts start off simply by self medicating because they cannot get the real help they need in the first place, whether it be physical or mental, there is always a reason. Addicts are humans too, underneath it all, and most people will never take the time to figure that out unless someone they love is going through it.
