Where will you go to get your tree?
With less than a month to go until Christmas many people will be going down into their basements or up into their attics to set up their tree for the holiday season. For those people brave enough to want to cut down their own real trees the New Jersey Department of Agriculture has put together a list of local farms that have plenty of options to choose from. The lists are even broken down by county and here in Monmouth County some of the most popular sites are in Manalapan, Howell, Aberdeen and Colts Neck. Sales for Point Borough High School are lagging due to Superstorm Sandy
The Project Graduation Committee is urging the Point Borough community to buy Christmas trees, poinsettias and holiday greens by Monday to make sure the alcohol-free event happens next June. The night at the Atlantic Club following the Point Borough High School graduation is at risk of becoming a secondary victim of Superstorm Sandy because organizers lost a few valuable weeks to sell the holiday flowers and greenery. Sales started at the end of October, just as the storm was hitting and then the local public schools were closed for two weeks, so sales are way behind and the deadline is Monday. Santa returned to Riverfront Park, after delighting visitors on Saturday
The only thing better than Santa Claus visiting a log cabin in Point Borough once is Santa visiting twice. And that's exactly what happened from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday when Santa again greeted visitors at the historic Bennett Log Cabin at Riverfront Park at River Road and Maxson Avenue. On Saturday, Santa had numerous visitors of all ages at the historic cabin, which volunteers had decked out in holiday splendor inside and out. Some wanted to sit on his lap and tell him what they want to see under the Christmas tree and in their stockings Christmas morning, as their parents snapped photos.
