St. Gregory's Pantry to Distribute Thanksgiving Food on Monday

Hot meals across the street today at Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church

  St. Gregory’s Pantry, located at St. Mary’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church at Bay and Atlantic avenues, will hold its annual Thanksgiving food distribution from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.   St. Gregory’s Pantry also announced that beginning Monday, Nov. 26, the Pantry will resume its normal hours, Monday-to-Friday from 10 a.m. to noon, for the distribution of non-perishable food and household items. Volunteers at Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church at Bay and Forman avenues will serve hot meals for those impacted by Hurricane Sandy at the Presbyterian church's Christian Education Building from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday. Boro and Beach Residents Help Churches Collect Food for Manasquan Food Pantry

Youths from local churches go door to door to fight hunger

There were 450 food items recently collected by residents from Manasquan, Brielle, Point Pleasant Borough and Point Pleasant Beach from several local churches for the Manasquan Food Pantry. The event, run as a food scavenger hunt, was planned by Pastor Lou LaFazia of The Church in Brielle and his daughter Julianna, a senior at Eastern University. It was well attended, with 48 youths and seven adult chaperones. Jessica Waldeyer, a participant from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Manasquan, said, “The members of the team that collected the most canned goods each received a $10 gift certificate to Dairy Queen. “I wasn’t really in it for the gift certificate,” Jessica, a Manasquan resident,  continued, “but it did give me motivation.
