Home Collapses on Belmar Boulevard

South side, near Shark River

A home in the process of being raised after seeing widespread Hurricane Sandy flooding has collapsed. The Belmar Boulevard home's roof now sits asunder and its walls flattened after the home collapsed earlier this week. The house is on the south side of Route 35 near the Shark River Harbor in Wall Township. The ranch home was one of the first in the neighborhood to be raised. The street currently lies in a FEMA map flood zones affecting residents around the Shark River from Route 35 an reaching westward to Marconi Road. RBR Athlete Dies During Game with Point Beach

Senior Albert Martin collapsed and died while playing basketball at Red Bank Regional

A Red Bank Regional (RBR) basketball player collapsed during a scrimmage with Point Beach on Monday afternoon and died after being rushed to the hospital. Albert Martin of Red Bank collapsed while playing basketball on Dec. 3, according to Red Bank Regional spokesperson Marianne Kligman.  Little Silver Police and EMS responded to the high school gym around 4:24 p.m. and performed CPR on Martin, 17, who was taken to Riverview Medical Center where he died, according to Little Silver Police Chief Daniel Shaffery.
