Point Beach schools are closed Monday
Point Borough schools have a half day this Mon., Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Point Beach schools are closed. Borough had originally planned to close for the King holiday, but, after Sandy, scheduled it as a half day to help make up for the days lost to the storm. Schedule changes to compensate for days lost
Point Beach public schools are making a few revisions to the school year calendar to make up for days lost to Superstorm Sandy. The changes are that there will be a full day of school on Feb. 15th and half days on Feb. 18th and Feb. 19th, said Point Beach Business Administrator Brian Savage. The two half days will be used for professional staff development after students are dismissed. The Point Beach public schools were closed from Oct. 29th, when Sandy struck the Jersey Shore, through Nov. 2 and then from Nov. 5 through Nov. 7 the following week.
