Seafood Festival Hassle-Free Via Free Shuttle

The 2012 Festival of the Sea was held Sat. in Point Beach

The sun, the food and the fun made a visit to the Festival of the Sea a great time for my family, friends and I on Saturday afternoon. And getting in and out quickly and easily via free shuttle bus was a big improvement over fighting traffic, driving around looking for a parking spot and then walking a long distance just to get to the beginning of the street fair. Residents from Point Beach, Point Borough, Brick, many parts of New Jersey and beyond, ate, drank and partied at the 2012 Festival of the Sea in downtown Point Pleasant Beach. The Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce, which planned and ran the popular seafood festival, could not have asked for more spectacular weather. The sunny skies and warm, balmy weather attracted …

Family Fishing Night to be Held Sat. in Point Beach

The summer's second family fishing night will again be at Loughran's Point

"The first one was so nice, we had to do it twice!" That's the sentiment of Michael Ramos and the Point Beach Recreation Committee who are holding the season's second Family Fishing Night at Loughran's Point on the Manasquan Inlet, Point Beach, from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. As always, the committee is asking participants to walk or bike to the site since parking is extremely limited. Longboard Grill, Bay Avenue, Point Beach, is again donating food. Alex's Bait and Tackle, on the inlet, is again offering discounts for pole rentals and staff will also be giving fishing tips to participants during the evening. There will also be raffles and prizes. For more information, click on attached PDF (click on "Full screen" to enlarge).

Whoosh Down a Water Slide, Climb a Wall and More at Summerfest Today!

UPDATE: NEW PHOTOS

A giant water slide, a climbing wall, lots of inflatable rides and four kinds of live musical entertainment are just a few of the reasons to come to Summerfest today. Originally, The Passion Group, running the event, had intended to have a ferris wheel at Summerfest. Unfortunately, that did not work out due to unforeseen circumstances. However, there is a giant water slide (in photo), other water slides and lots of rides and games for kids. The event, sponsored by the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, is running until 7 p.m. at Community Park on Bridge Avenue and Beaver Dam Road. Last year was the first year the festival was moved off Bridge Avenue into the park. And rest assured: the dunk-a-cop-tank, a big draw last year, is at …

Project Grad Committee: Buy Some Flowers Point Boro!

Committee planning the alcohol-free, post-graduation party needs a lot more flower sales to make Project Graduation successful

The Project Graduation Committee is urging the greater Point Borough community to buy some flowers - fast! The deadline has been extended to Friday because the number of flower sales are down 30 percent compared to last year, said Noelle Grcic, one of the parents heading up the small, but determined, parents' committee trying to plan the kind of Project Graduation that Point Borough High School graduates will want to attend. The committee, through other fundraisers, has raised enough money to pay the Atlantic Club in Wall for use of its facility after the June 13 graduation. However, the committee sorely needs more funds to make sure there are enough activities to keep the graduates nice and busy during the event which begins after …
