Point Beach Residents Can Apply for Hazard Mitigation Grants

Forms on municipal website

  Point Beach residents and property owners flooded by Sandy can now apply, through the town, for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grants. Information and forms are available on the home page of the municipal website, which states: "The Borough of Point Pleasant Beach will be proceeding with the process to enter the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Program. The information shown below pertaining to this program is directly from the FEMA website. The Borough will be submitting a Letter of Intent to Ocean County by March 22, 2013, as required by FEMA advising the county, state Office of Emergency Management, and FEMA, of the Borough’s intention to participate in the program. Point Boro: FEMA Extends Deadline for Hazard Mitigation Grants

March 19 is new deadline for Boro residents to file with Boro Hall

  Point Borough residents who were flooded by Sandy now have until March 19 to apply for FEMA Hazard Mitigation grants, according to a notice FEMA sent to Point Borough. All applications must be filed at Point Borough's Borough Hall on Bridge Avenue and the Borough will submit them as a group, said Borough Administrator David Maffei. "This is a competitive grant and there is no guarantee that anyone will receive funding," Maffei said. The original deadline was today, but the Borough was notified that the deadline has been extended, Maffei said (see attached PDF).
