Monmouth University Poll Ranks State's Municipal Websites

Point Boro ranks at 134, Point Beach is 149

  As municipalities continue to find ways to upgrade their websites to meet the requirements for the Governor's Best Standards Checklist, towns now know where they stand in the state among other municipal websites. According to a Monmouth University poll ranking 540 municipal websites in the state, Middletown, out of Monmouth County, ranks first and Tavistock Borough, Camden County, ranks 540th. Point Borough ranks at 134 and Point Beach ranks 149. Franklin Lakes Borough, out of Bergen County, was second and West Windsor Township, from Mercer County, was third. Galloway Township ranked 312. Galloway Township Manager Arch Liston is assembling a committee to entertain 15 responses to the township’s Request for Proposals (RFPs) for upgrading …

Turtles, Bouncy Houses, And How to Go Green at Earth Day

What did you like best about Point Boro's Earth Day?

  Turtles wriggled, children bounced, goats were fed and life got a little greener at the Earth Day 2013 celebration at Riverfront Park, River Road, Point Borough on Saturday afternoon. The annual event, featuring about 90 vendors and nonprofit groups, live music, food, children's rides, games and face painting and live greyhounds, was again planned and run by the Point Pleasant Borough Environmental Commission. Hundreds of people flocked to the park and got to taste some seafood and barbecue, pet some farm animals, get some information about how to live life greener and smarter and, last but not least, to see live turtles. I came to Earth Day to represent Boy Scout Troop 3 and Cub Scout Pack 3. They sponsored a booth showing all the ways that BSA prepares our youth to be good stewards of the Earth through our rank advancement and recognition programs and how we put that into action through photos of service projects like the Maxson Avenue riverfront beach clean-up that Troop 3 did prior to Earth Day.
