"Rockin' the 80s" Antrim Fundraiser on Sat. Night

PTO fundraiser is at Jenkinson's

  G. Harold Antrim Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is holding a “Rockin’ the 80s” fundraiser at 7 p.m. Saturday at Jenk's Club on the boardwalk. Admission to the First Annual Spring Dance Fundraiser is $20, which includes a buffet from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and dancing. "Dance the night away in your 80’s attire with the bands 1.21 Gigawatts and Brian Kirk and the Jirks," says a prepared statement from the PTO. Prizes will be awarded for the “King and Queen of the 80’s Prom Look,” “Best 80s Celebrity Impersonator” and "The Best 80s Hair: highest and best mullet.” Jenkinson’s donated use of the club, buffet, two bands and DJ for the event, according to the PTO. Point Beach Holiday Cooks Tour Canceled

But Antrim PTO will still have raffle

  The Holiday Cooks Tour in Point Beach has been canceled, due to the destruction caused by Sandy. But the G. Harold Antrim Elementary School PTO will still run a raffle. For those who bought tickets to the Cooks Tour or who want more information, please read the letter below from Peg Born, PTO Treasurer: "It is with great sadness that we inform you that the PTO Executive Board, along with the Holiday Cooks Tour Committee, have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's event. We are, however, going to continue with our 50/50 raffle as planned. Tickets are $5.00 each and the drawing will take place on Dec. 1st. I really hope people who purchased tickets seriously consider either donating thier ticket money to the PTO or rolling it over into 50/50 tickets. This is a great organization that does so much for the kids at Antrim School. With the cancellation of the Cooks Tour they are basicallly giving up 60-75% of thier operating budget for next year (and part of this year), which wil greatly affect thier …   more ›

Antrim PTO Meeting, Prizes, Events and Fun Coming Up

PTO asks parents to help make year successful

  The first PTO meeting at the G. Harold Antrim Elementary School will be held on Thursday, which is the day after students return to school. The social begins at 6:30 p.m. and the general meeting begins at 7 p.m. Everyone who attends the meeting will be entered in a drawing to win three great prizes: a $50.00 gift certificate to 709, a BEACH Sweatshirt and a $20.00 Hoffman’s gift card. Snacks and refreshments will also be served. The new executive board of the Antrim PTO, Erin Mathioudakis, Peg Born, Suzanne Shea, Julia Porter and Lisa Whelan, welcomes all students and families “back to school" and asks more parents to volunteer to help make events and the school year successful.
