Well, that was interesting. After a week of frenzied voting, when The Purple Iris and Petal Street Flower Company were often neck-and-neck or darn close to it, Purple Iris won. Purple Iris received 494 votes, or 60 percent of the total vote of 814, and Petal Street got 294 votes or 36 percent of the total vote, which is quite a respectable showing considering Petal Street has not been around nearly as long as Purple Iris and some of the other local florists.
