Warm, Cuddly Friend Waiting for You at Point Paws

Animal rescue center is waiving adoption fee all weekend

Enjoying your holiday weekend, but maybe something is missing? That something might be warm and cuddly and waiting for you at Point Paws in Point Borough. The Animal Welfare Committee is waiving its adoption fee, upon application approval, for its cat and kittens through the weekend. The volunteers will be at the center at 733 Albert E. Clifton Ave. from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. Point Paws administers the Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) program for the Point Borough area. The program is designed to help reduce the feral cat population, control disease and create a safer, healthier environment for feral cats and the community. Free Adoption of Kittens from Point Paws During August

Point Paws asks for donations of pet food or supplies

Point Paws, the Animal Welfare Committee of Point Borough, is offering free adoption of kittens as part of "Pick Meow't Adoption Month" during the rest of August. "Come by our rescue center on 733 Albert E. Clifton Ave. in Point Borough (by appointment only) and browse our adorable kitties," says a prepared statement from Point Paws. "If we approve your application, we will waive the adoption fee." In lieu of adoption fees, Point Paws is asking for donations of: Friskies Canned Food, Fancy Feast Kitten cans, Purina Cat Chow Dry Food and Purina Kitten Chow Dry, laundry detergent, dish detergent, litter (both clay and scoopable) toilet paper, paper towels, baby wipes, formula for kittens (preferably KMR powder or cans) kitten bottles or …

Jersey Shore Roller Girls Collecting Donations for Point Paws at Saturday's Bout

Food, supplies and monetary donations needed for animal welfare committee

The Shore's toughest team, the Jersey Shore Roller Girls, are gearing up for another bout this Saturday at Convention Hall in Asbury Park. Philly's "Block Party" team will be taking our girls on head to head.  The Roller Girls are supporting Point Paws, the Animal Welfare Committee of Point Pleasant Borough, who are a community involvement program working to protect, care for, and provide a safe and healthy environment for the cats/kittens in Point Borough and Point Beach. They are always in need of help whether it be volunteering or donations. The JSRG are asking fans to bring a donation with them to this Saturday's bout. Alpacas, Donkeys and Bunnies! It's Earth Day!

Food, fun and great tips on how to stay mosquito-free also at annual Point Boro festival

  When you're as fuzzy as Sullivan, everyone wants to pet you. Sullivan is an alpaca and was one of the featured attractions at Earth Day at Riverfront Park in Point Pleasant Borough on Saturday afternoon. There was also a donkey, chickens, goats, rabbits, greyhounds, rides, games, food, vendors and exhibits on all things Earthy, including how to keep mosquitos away in natural, environmentally-sound, low-cost ways. "Strive to Be Mosquito-Free" was the theme of this year's Earth Day and student T-shirt contest for fourth and fifth graders, all run by the Point Pleasant Borough Environmental Commission. "Point Paws Cat Walk" to Debut at Point Boro's Earth Day

"Cat Walk" is s fundraiser for the local animal welfare committee

  "Cat Walk," a fundraiser for Point Paws, will be one of many fun activities at Point Borough's Earth Day at Riverfront Park on April 21. Walkers will need to fill out an application, donate $10 to enter and will receive a Point Paws T-shirt. Walkers may request pledges from friends and family to help raise more money for Point Paws' "Trap, Neuter and Release" program to help control the local feral cat population. "Be creative, dress up, bring your pet to walk with you, we will walk in a parade at 2 p.m. around the park to earn our pledges," says a flier promoting the event.
