Tough Loss for Point Beach in Central Jersey Group I NJSIAA Tournament
After a great season that made them top seed in their group, Point Beach baseball fell to Florence 4-2 on Friday afternoon at home. "The Flashes scored three runs in the top of the first inning and did not trail again on their way to spoiling a shot at the first sectional title in program history for the Garnet Gulls (15-7)," according to All Shore Media. The last time Point Beach had a chance at a sectional title was 2001 and Florence beat them. Florence, sixth seed in Central Jersey Group 1, ended the season for Point Beach.
