Mike Dalton band performing and lots of raffles and prizes
The Second Annual Point Borough PBA #158 fundraiser will be held at Jack and Mike's Brickhouse Bar and Grill from 1 to 5 p.m. today (Sun., May 19). The event, at 979 Cedarbridge Ave., will feature "top shelf open bar, hors d'oevres and an all you can eat buffet," according to the promotional flier (see attached). There will be raffles, with prizes and T-shirts awarded to winners, and the Mike Dalton Band will perform. Tickets are $60 per person. Proceeds will go to Special Olympics, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, local scholarships and other local, worthy causes, police said. Flying Fish to give 100% proceeds to NJ Sandy victims

Huffington Post reports that Flying Fish Brewery Company is ready to give Hurricane Sandy a big F.U. with "F. U. Sandy," a hybrid wheat-pale ale inspired by the storm. (The F.U. stands for "Forever Unloved.") One hundred percent of the proceeds from the beer will go to New Jersey Sandy victims, according to the Huffington Post story. For the full story, click here.

Fundraiser runs 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday
Eat at Hot Off the Press on Friday to help the Point Borough High School Boys Hockey team. Ten percent of proceeds from breakfast, lunch and dinner ordered anytime from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. will go to the hockey team. The shop, at 3126 Bridge Ave., Point Borough, is about half a block east of the Stop 'n Shop grocery store.

Fundraiser will be held on Sept. 10
A golf outing fundraiser will be held for the Point Pleasant Beach Public Education Foundation on Sept. 10 at Manasquan River Golf Club. The rain date is Sept. 17. The fundraiser is one of the biggest of the year, so organizers are encouraging the community to attend. The foundation uses revenue from this and other fundraisers to fund projects and purchase items that the school district simply cannot afford through the local school district budget. For example, the foundation has paid for: football field improvements; books; supplies; technology and donations to Project Graduation. Point Boro's middle school choirs have fundraiser tonight at Dairy Queen and one at Bubbakoo's on Tuesday
The Memorial Middle School choirs will be hosting two fundraisers to raise money to attend a High Note Music Festival in June. The first fundraiser is tonight from 5 to 10 p.m. at Dairy Queen, 2506 Bridge Ave., Point Pleasant Borough. A portion of the proceeds of tonight's sales will go to the choirs to help pay for their trip to the festival (the location is still to be announced). You must present the flier found here (see attached PDF) or in the Memorial Middle School virtual backpack on the Point Pleasant Schools website.
