Point Boro School Safety Forum Wed. Night

Event is 7 to 9 p.m. at high school auditorium

  Point Borough Schools will host a School Safety Panel Discussion and Parent Forum from 7 to 8 p.m. Wed. at the Borough High School auditorium. District administrators will join local law enforcement officials and school safety experts for "an engaging and collaborative discussion about best practices in school safety," according to a prepared statement from the district. Those attending the forum will learn about safety procedures and emergency response exercises practiced in the Borough School District. Panelists Include:  Vincent S. Backpedaling Halfway on Parking Plan

In possible turn-around, Point Beach Republicans say they might be in favor of District 4 parking plan

  Maybe the District 4 Parking Plan wasn't such a bad idea after all. Then again, maybe it was. Point Beach Republican candidates Andy Cortes and Stephen Reid, who had always been staunchly against the overnight parking restrictions established this summer for non-residents in District 4, now say that maybe they're in favor of it. If they're elected, would they vote for it next year? Maybe they would. But maybe they wouldn't. The two said at Thursday night's council candidates forum that they've been doing a lot of walking door to door and talking with residents in District 4 and beyond. The parking plan is working in D4 in more ways then one even though a few will not admit it. D3 is getting more tourist parking in their area. You would think most would want the parking plan expanded in D3.
