Annual Arrival of Santa held at Community Park
Santa Claus and a few of his Elves and some other holiday characters - including The Grinch, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - arrived at Community Park last night, ushering in a wave of holiday cheer in the borough. Santa's arrival on a borough firetruck coincided with the borough's Christmas Tree being lit, presided over by Mayor William Schoeder. Dozens of children then stood in line in the unusually mild winter weather to sit in Santa's lap and have their picture taken while members of the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce - which runs the annual event, handed out free cookies and warm apple cider. Also performing at the festival was the Nellie Bennett Elementary School Fifth Grade Chorus and dancers from the …

The Kringle graces the downtown, courtesy of Point Beach Chamber
A whole lot of kids got to see Santa's eyes twinkling up close on Friday night, courtesy of the Point Beach Chamber of Commerce. A long line of children and parents waited patiently outside Ocean County Music and Electronics on Arnold Avenue for their turn to meet Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas. "I want the keys to Daddy's car," said Dominic Silvestre, of Howell, despite that he's barely out of the toddler set. He visited Santa with his brother, Logan. "Sorry, we can't do that," Santa replied, smiling, his dimples how merry. Lorenzo Natoli, 3, asked for Transformers and said he had been a good boy all year long. Volunteers with the Point Beach Chamber of Commerce shot and printed out photographs of Santa and the children …

Santa returned to Riverfront Park, after delighting visitors on Saturday
The only thing better than Santa Claus visiting a log cabin in Point Borough once is Santa visiting twice. And that's exactly what happened from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday when Santa again greeted visitors at the historic Bennett Log Cabin at Riverfront Park at River Road and Maxson Avenue. On Saturday, Santa had numerous visitors of all ages at the historic cabin, which volunteers had decked out in holiday splendor inside and out. Some wanted to sit on his lap and tell him what they want to see under the Christmas tree and in their stockings Christmas morning, as their parents snapped photos. Some wanted one of the candy canes he was handing out. Some wanted to gaze at his fluffy white beard or just touch him. But one boy had his mind on …

Santa will be at the Bennett Log Cabin Sat. and Sun.
If you love Santa Claus and trains, head to Riverfront Park on Saturday or Sunday. Santa brings his workshop to the Bennett Log Cabin from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for "an old-fashioned Christmas," according to Richard Morris, who led the volunteer effort to move and rebuild the historic home. Visitors can enjoy Santa, his trains, antique and wooden toys and more. The Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce will be serving hot cocoa and cookies. The park is at the corner of River Road and Maxson Avenue, on the Manasquan River, in Point Borough.

Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty hosts the Kringle
If the idea of standing in a long, snaking line at a mall just so your child can talk to Santa for half a minute gives you a chill colder than the Winter Warlock's, take comfort and joy in this merry news. Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty in Point Beach is hosting Santa at Sunday brunch. And that's a much quicker sleigh ride than going to a mall, isn't it? The waterfront restaurant managed to snag the Big Guy even though he is at the height of his busy season, what with having to check all those names twice and all. And yes, children can have their photos taken with Santa and they get a gift. So pick up the phone and reserve now because there are only two times for Sunday brunch with Santa in the Sunset Ballroom and they're expected to fill up …
