John Pizzi, comic, ventriloquist and magician, to perform live
A free Comedy Night will be held tonight at the G. Harold Antrim Elementary School in Point Beach. John Pizzi, comedian, ventriloquist and magician, will perform live, thanks to the Antrim Parent-Teacher Organization. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Pizzi's bio, as provided by the PTO, says: "One of the hottest rising comics in the entertainment industry, has brought his unique brand of comedy to audiences around the country! Opening act for entertainers like Jerry Vale, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, Joy Behar, Weird Al Yankovic, The Trammps, The Regents, Al Martino, Clint Holmes and many more! "Performing as a national headliner at comedy clubs, resorts, colleges, and theaters across the United States. …
"The Fantasticks" Opens Thurs. at Point Boro H.S.
"The Fantasticks" will open Thursday night at Point Borough High School and tickets are now on sale. Rebecca Muraglia, Dramatic Arts teacher, said, "Although we lost two valuable weeks of rehearsal, we still intend on opening our show on the original date of Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. Needless to say, ticket sales are down due to the aftermath of Sandy." Muraglia, along with the cast and crew, are encouraging the community to come enjoy the show. The school district was closed for two weeks due to Tropical Storm Sandy flooding and damaging many homes of students and staff, although the school buildings were not flooded or damaged. The early morning concert event featured Train and Adam Lambert
About 1,500 people crowded into Jenkinson's Pavilion and onto the beach as Adam Lambert and then Train entertained the throngs at the WPLJ Summer Blast-off on Friday morning. Lambert performed four songs and Train also performed several songs, followed by WPLJ playing recorded music as people hung out in the pavilion or on the beach. Some concertgoers left after Lambert, and some after Train had played their last tune. Others stayed in the pavilion or on the beach. Jenkinson's has held the early Friday morning event for many years as an unofficial start of the summer season.
