Buy Flowers to Help Point Boro Project Graduation

A few local businesses also raising money for the alcohol and drug free event at Atlantic Club

Buy flowers to help local Point Borough High School graduates stay safe after graduation. The annual Spring Flower and Plant Sale is the last major fundraiser for Project Graduation and the deadline to order is Friday. So far, sales are way behind last year's. "We really count on the flower sale to help cover the costs of the night," said Nancy Pazienza of the the committee planning the alcohol and drug free night at the Atlantic Club in Wall following the June 18 graduation. "So far we have less than half the amount of orders we had last year and a third of the amount of sales. The orders and payment need to be in school by 2:30 p.m. Friday. Or they can email me or call me (732-604-0750)  and we will come pick the orders up." Project …

Wall Runner: 'They Had Time to Plan It'

Krissy Suckow finished Boston Marathon about 20 minutes before bomb went off

Krissy Suckow, who ran in the Boston Marathon on Monday, had time on the drive home to the Jersey Shore to think about how someone planned the bombing that left three dead, including an 8-year-old child, and at least 141 wounded. And she just kept thinking about the 5K race that was run the day before. "They had a 5K race the day before set up on the marathon course," Suckow said, as she rode in her father's car as he drove them home to Wall on Monday evening. "The finish line and everything were all set up for the marathon the next day, so anyone could see the whole course the day before and plan exactly where they wanted to do this," said Suckow, 29, a seventh and eighth grade teacher at Rahway Academy in Union County. And plan they …

Keith E. Morgan, 56, and Shauna Ewing Morgan, 43, of Sawmill Road, have each been charged with abandonment, failure to provide sustenance and causing unnecessary suffering, said Charles Webster, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesman. Buy Christmas Trees and Poinsettias to Save Project Graduation

Sales for Point Borough High School are lagging due to Superstorm Sandy

The Project Graduation Committee is urging the Point Borough community to buy Christmas trees, poinsettias and holiday greens by Monday to make sure the alcohol-free event happens next June. The night at the Atlantic Club following the Point Borough High School graduation is at risk of becoming a secondary victim of Superstorm Sandy because organizers lost a few valuable weeks to sell the holiday flowers and greenery. Sales started at the end of October, just as the storm was hitting and then the local public schools were closed for two weeks, so sales are way behind and the deadline is Monday. "We are trying to focus on not letting Sandy take the holiday out of Point Pleasant and to let Project Graduation bring the holiday spirit with …

@Kriswall, Agreed...This A-hole should go to jail along with the BOE members. These problems are happening in other districts. It might not be the same thing, giving cars away or extra insurance but it is other perks. UPDATED: Former Wall Superintendent's Boro Home Raided By Prosecutor's Office

James F. Hable's Point Boro home raided this morning

Investigators from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office this morning raided the Point Pleasant Borough home of former Wall Township Superintendent of Schools James F. Habel. Acting Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni was tight-lipped about the raid, saying only that the office "conducted an investigative action.'' Gramiccioni did not say what investigators were looking for or what was taken from Habel's home at 1614 Blue Heron Court in a quiet, residential neighborhood in the Borough. The raid began at 6:30 a.m. Late Thursday morning, there appeared to be a few, unmarked law enforcement vehicles outside the home, which had a For Sale sign posted in front. Attempts to reach Habel were unsuccessful Thursday afternoon. The retirement payout…
