Point Boro School Taxes Would Go Up $89 Per Year on Average Home

Public budget hearing 7 p.m. March 25 at Ocean Road School

  Local school taxes on an average Point Borough home assessed at $375,000 will increase by $89 annually if a proposed school budget is adopted by the Borough Board of Education. A public hearing on the budget for the 2013-2014 school year is scheduled for 7 p.m. March 25 at Ocean Road School. The board, which heard a budget presentation on Monday night at Ocean Road, is expected to adopt the budget on March 25.   A conference call involving numerous state and federal agencies providing information to businesses impacted by Sandy is now available online. The audio recording of a Thursday afternoon conference call with FEMA, the Small Business Administration and other business agencies can now be accessed at the New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA) website. Blue Claws and Point Police-Firefighter Games Held Last Night to Help Local Girl

Fundraiser for Point Borough girl with kidney disease at Blue Claws Stadium were held Sunday night

The Lakewood Blue Claws and Point Pleasant Borough police vs. Point Pleasant Beach firefighters had a fundraiser softball game Sunday night to help a Point Borough girl in the fight of her life. A Blue Claws game, followed by a separate, fundraiser softball game, "Badges for Charity," were played at the Lakewood Blue Claws stadium to help a Point Pleasant Borough girl suffering from a rare kidney disease. The Point Pleasant Policemen's Benevolent Association (PBA) played the volunteer Point Pleasant Beach Fire Department to help raise money for Allie Ciancia, 10,  who suffers from a rare kidney disease called FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomulerosclerosis), according to Ruthi Blaum Grabowski, her grandmother.
