Authorities are urging residents not to disclose their Social Security numbers or credit card information to anyone, including those claiming to work for the IRS or Social Security administration. The Wall Township police have opened two investigations into the theft of income tax returns recently and are issuing a warning to other residents to be vigilant this time of year. Those warnings apply to any residents in any town. Boro officials warn that flooding is anticipated
Point Borough Emergency Management officials are warning residents to move cars to higher ground because flooding is anticipated. The Emergency Management Facebook page says: "Flooding is anticipated. Please move vehicles to higher ground and take precautions to protect your property and yourselves." Kiel Arnone, Deputy Coordinator of Borough Emergency Management, said that he, Mayor William Schroeder and Point Boro First Aid Squad volunteers will be in ambulances and fire trucks driving around parts of the Borough, especially those that are flood-prone, and warning residents to move cars and take precautions. About fireworks: don't try this at home
Here's some information about July 4th trash and recycling schedules, where to see fireworks, why you shouldn't do your own, and other safety tips. In Point Borough, there will be no collection of trash or recycling on Wednesday, July 4th. The trash collection schedule for those who usually get pick-ups Wednesday, Thursday or Friday is one day later this week due to the July 4th holiday. Trash collection is now on the same weekly schedule during the summer as the rest of the year in Point Borough. Recycling collection remains on alternate weeks.
