ReplyElaine or anyone else who might know,
I noticed that paved areas (like where you'd stand waiting to cross the street) have been/are being added to a few intersections in Toms River. A few of the intersections I noticed were Hooper/Bey Lea, Oak/Bey Lea, and Old Freehold/Bey Lea. Any idea what's going on here? Will there be sidewalks or something else added in these areas?

ReplyIt's a pretty nice website. Not surprised that it is the best in Ocean County. I can often find useful information on the website and that saves a phone call.
I do have one complaint about the website though. The search function doesn't seem to work very well - it never brings relevant results. I'm sure some township employees read Patch so if anyone is, I kindly request that this be brough to the attention of one of TR's IT people. Thanks a bunch!

ReplyPlease make Rt. 9 two lanes in each direction (or maybe at least add a center left turn lane) and then we'll talk about adding even MORE traffic to this already nightmarish road.

ReplyJust my opinion, but I really like the new look. The blue and white looked so dated. These new police cars are sleek and sharp looking.

Melinda,
Death penalty for two people seems like a pretty harsh punishment, especially because the injured child is (as of now) alive.
The parent(s) is/are definitely negligent and should be held accountable but wanting someone to be shot in the head? I once hurt someone in a car accident; should I be put to death too?

But but, but a pool has other uses than just killing people!
I guess if it saves even one life we should ban pools too though.

Wow, and in six years, they could have 300 guns!!!
P.S. one gun a month is for handguns only. If someone had a lot of money, he/she could buy 300 of the gun involved in this accident in one day!!
We better go make some more arbitrary laws!!

Yeah totally. Living in Ocean County you'd think NJ was one of the worst states for cycling. As you said, wide paved shoulders on main roads would be great. Dedicated bike lanes would be even better. But if you ask me, the biggest issue for Ocean County cycling is the embarrassment that is the Barnegat Branch Trail. It's going on six years now and the thing is what, maybe half done? And not even in a way that is at all useful - a segment toward the north end is done and a segment in the southern area is done, and there's nothing in the middle. I'd be willing to volunteer to work on the thing for free at this point just to finish it.
