Yeah no news isn't exactly breaking news...I think they just call everything " breaking news" I just can't believe no charges have been filed yet... at the very least it's endangering the welfare of a minor... don't need an investigation to see that...a 4 year old had access to a loaded gun! what are they waiting for, to charge the poor child with murder? I really can't believe child services hasn't gotten more involved... in a lot of states they would have taken their kids for this

my condolences to the family...I couldn't imagine as a parent of a 5 year old boy...I hope these parents are charged for their neglence... although it won't reverse what happened, one you're charged with a felony you are no longer allowed your 2nd amendment rights, which means it will be illegal for them to have any guns in their house for a long time... although I'm sure ( or would hope) that the one who left that gun out is living with the guilt of this... they still need to be delt with legaly for what they did is illegal... intentional or not...I hope both these families can find peace, especially the Holt family, and just maybe a few irresponsible gun owners will think twice before leaving loaded gun lying around

I agree guns are not dangerous when used responsibly... they don't just jump up and shot people, it takes someone to pull the trigger... if the parents were responsible and kept their guns locked in a safe as required by law this tragedy never would have happened... having a fun is no more dangerous than driving a car, both can be used to kill people and can be dangerous if used the wrong way...I just pay this child recovers and both children's suffering is minimal due to the ignorance of a parent

if love to buy that trex from the safari ride if they sold them... that pic just makes me especially sad as my son would always go round and round that safari... always his favorite ride ( well until he finally hit 42" for rollercoasters) just so sad to see it all so many memories

and that's why we decided to just cut or losses, sell the land, pay off the mortgage and move on... how long can it go on... our house want very damaged aside from some water, but the way it was built 70 years ago makes it impossible to lift so it would have to be demolished, but they won't cover the demolition because there wasn't enough damage... wish we never wasted the time typing walls and carpets out just to find out later on about the lifting thing... would have just left it alone from the start... waste of a lot of hard work trying to fix things... but what they want changes daily n getting permits to do work seems to have gotten harder and harder... and on top of it somehow the new appraised value of a gutted house is more than it was before the storm so they actually want more in property taxes for a house that's not even habitable...I wish they could get their crap in order so people can start putting their lives back together

I definitely agree we'd be better off if we weren't part of Tom's river and their corrupt government... we were even better off as Dover township... once tr took over everything it all went downhill... unfortunately we've already been forced to put our home up for sale... can't afford to keep paying for a house we can't even get permits to fix so we can live there... let alone the inevitable increases in cost of living and can't keep living in a tiny hotel room with 5 people... time has come to move on and rebuild the little lives left and get the heck out of Tom's river

already spoke to a realtor... it's all just become too much of a headache... can't keep waiting for them to figure things out to have a home... be happy to pay off the mortgage n just start new elsewhere at this point... when it was just replacing some sheetrock and writing it was one thing, now it's one big confusing mess

Ok that's understandable, I can see if they want to make it into a public beach than the township should be the ones responsible for paying for and maintaining it just like the rest of the beach area, I wouldn't want that coming out of my pocket either... it's all been made to seem as an issue of nice views and keeping people away...I also want aware that there were dunes built....I was under the assumption that you had the choice to either build your own dunes or sign the easement...I don't see why they can't just build their dunes and connect them then, but I guess to them it's their way or no way... thank you for the information though, it does put more understanding to the resistance in signing these, and I believe other people who were unaware of their conditions will be more understanding as well... and I'd assume if they want it a public beach they'd require you to have the lifeguards, badges, ect, and yes it should be at their cost not yours
