You know, Patch.... if you don't have enough information to type up a decent story with enough pertinent facts or details for it to make sense as a "news story", why not just skip it until you do have some facts?
I mean seriously - no name of the victim, ok, I'll go along with that, but was it a male or female victim? Did he/she work there or was /heshe a guest?
Was the shooter male or female? Did they know each other? Was the shooter caught? Being pursued? Any motive like attempted robbery, mugging, or argument leading up to this incident? Why bother with this story at all? Just filler, I suppose...

That is All absolutely UNTRUE. I have a family member who was on section 8 for a few years. They HAD to work, and 1/3 of their income went towards the rent. They have to requalify every year. If their income went up, their share of the rent goes up exactly the same percentage. (Nearly impossible to ever dig themselves out or get ahead by a few bucks every month).
They did NOT collect welfare, food stamps or even SSI or disability. EVER. They did not qualify because they were a family of 4 living on (less than) 22,000 a year. Section 8 * rarely * pays 100% of the rent. One would need to be over 62-65, and/or disabled. And even then they might not pay 100% depending on what one collects from being disabled and if the person is single or part of a family that has others working.

When I was in school we went outside for gym every day, hot or cold, as long as it wasn't really windy, or raining. Only on bad weather days did we stay in the gym and play basketball, or some other game involving running and a ball. Don't kids go outside anymore?
As for the bubble- it was ugly, it wasn't practical and look- now it's been beaten down by weather. Build some other sort of building, with minimal air conditioning, minimal heating, and bleachers for spectators. Pretty much a 'stadium' or sports field with a roof and some walls.

No Chris, that is not what I said.... Not really.
Not EVERYONE against Obama is a racist, or a bigot... not everyone. But the few people I do know, and know very well, who ARE voting for Romney are doing so for one reason and one reason only:
*They want Obama OUT, and they really don't care WHO gets in, as long as they are white, and republican.* Period.
They can't stand the thought that a Black man is our president, or they can't stand the idea that a (secret) Muslim is our president, or they believe the idea that Obama is a socialist out to destroy America. They have told me their reasons themselves. Racist and bigotry reasons. The socialist reason is just plain stupid... but whatever.

It all comes down to they want Obama Out. THAT is the most important "issue" for them in this election.
Now, you mean to tell me these few people I know are the ONLY people voting for Romney for those reasons? Really? You believe that?
Come on........ millions probably have the same reasons. And they suck.

You're wasting your time, George Clark.... there is no talking rationally or sensibly to these Romney suporters. It's all about $$ money $$ to them. (Well that, and getting The Black Man/Muslim/Socialist out of office).
They believe America should be ruled like a CEO rules a corporation, and they actually believe that some day, they too will be wealthy, happy and living in their McMansion next door to other Big Wigs -- all because America is a "business" and should be treated as such. "Humanity" doesn't count because there's no $ profits $ in humanity and compassion .... They believe the woes of America are the fault of poor people and lazy immigrants. No blame on the plutocrats and their corporate masters.... nope.

Maybe the foreign policies worked in the 80's but the world is not the same as it was in the 80's. Foreign policy needs to keep up with the times. Allies abandon Allies, political leaders and governments in other places change, and enemies change tactics all over the world.

As for social policies of the 50's... well as a woman I don't want to go back to the 50's thanks anyway. I prefer to be treated like an equal in all areas of life. We haven't gotten there for ALL areas of life, but damn, we've come a long long way since the pearl wearing, frilly apron-ed Lucy Ricardo of the 50's!

Civil rights? Didn't that really hit its peak in the 60's ?

Economics of the '20's .... hmmm.... Crash of '29? Ring a bell?

Come on, not that hard to figure this out, Rick.
