Wake up Mom 2, Go ask a few H.S. graduates what is really going on. Oh..that's right people don't listen to the kids. They never know what they are talking about right. They know way more than what parents or the schools think. People wonder why suicide is high amongst teenagers. They feel helpless because most are not getting the help they need at home or school. No one cares enough to really sit and ask them questions or wait for their answers. The H.S. kids know what is going on in their schools. There complaints get dismissed or squashed real quick. Its never the schools fault according to them. It is always the kid or the parents fault. Not that some parents are not screwed up. Who lets them get away with it? The schools do. It is denial all the way around. Everyone just stay in that bubble and vote for the teacher of they year. Hopefully it will be that 10% that really deserves it. I doubt it because from my own friends wife who is a teacher realizes her school is filled with her co-workers that pretends to be friends are really phonies and will be the first to send you down the river without a paddle. They will leave you hi and dry. Everything is based on popularity and who knows who. I know the right teachers are not getting the credit they deserve. I have to wonder if the kids who are getting recognized or are at top really deserve it too.

Beach_N8iv, This has nothing to do with making people "Happy" Maybe that is why there is so many problems here. What does "Happy" have to do with anything. It is about doing what is right. Stop the Lies, B.S., Fighting on who has more rights than others. This town continues to get more ridiculous everyday.

Beach_N8iv, How do the people expect "US" to react? We expect everyone to be treated the same and equal. Respect everyone that lives here. Regardless how long you lived here, Full time, Part time, Seasonal...it shouldn't matter. If something is no longer working? Then, "YES" People expect changes and they will give you their suggestion and should. No one is more important than another. Those born and raised here over react and take it the wrong way as "Telling" What to do? How about all of you grow up. Just maybe others have better ideas than some of you. If some of you would open your mind a bit and actually listen to others besides listen to the sounds of your own voices. Just maybe the town would have less problems. If we only had a crystal ball? People that moved here did not realize what was going on. They thought it was an entirely different town. They were fooled and moved here under the wrong impression. Some made a costly mistake and now has to deal with it. Especially since "Sandy" hit the jersey shore communities. Now, all those who were born and raised here can either keep on being in denial on what is really going on? You can all pretend nothing is wrong and keep everything the same or stand up and change what has to be change for the better of all "Community Residents", including "OUR KIDS" and "All businesses" It has to be fair and equal. You can't keep on sticking your head in the sand and saying we are the greatest when we are not. Get the pride back.

Stop using the storm as an excuse. It is getting old already. I don't agree that all teachers put an honest days work in. You are allowed to think the way you want to and I will think like I do. Thank You Very Much. If you adults would only start listening to the children in your town maybe you would have a real clue on what has been going on.

Don't you realize its alway about politics. I am sure the teacher of the year will be someone politically connected that has nothing to do with who is really the best teacher. Sure and all the high school kids complain how screwed up and lazy the teachers are today. They do very little, minimum amount of work necessary to get the kids passing. They aren't always honest according to them. I find the students are more honest and tell it like it is. When grades are given so freely no 17 year old kid is going to turn that opportunity down even when they know they don't deserve the grade. Stop using the storm as an excuse. That is what everyone is doing and it is really sickening all ready.

Cindy Williams....That is just the two that you know. You know how many more cases and problems there is with these half of a pea brain goober cops down in these shore communities. Most of them are not stable and should be rechecked and evaluated. The problem is most are hired from their family and friends. They should get rid of every one of them. They just are not stable. I ran in to a cop in pt. pleasant that was directing traffic during the sandy crises. These were residents on line getting gasoline for their generators and cars. The cop was out of control, He was so hyper and wrapped way to tight. It was like he was on cocaine. These cops need to be checked for drugs and alcohol. I guess there is not much else to do down in the beach area. Get real cops in from up north that will work for a lot less with more brains that could stomach real crime. The residents of NJ gets stuck paying for all these cops who are out, or teachers that can't be put in a classrooms. Our governor needs to start making up some new rules. Let's dismantle the Unions, start over with realistic rules in more ways than one.

You are wrong and full of baloney. The only ones that I have seen being nasty to each other are the ones born and raised here. When was that great pride were everyone would be friendly and caring regardless of their political beliefs? It must have been a very long time ago. Please stop being a phony. Don't go blaming it on new people moving in. Out of the mouth of born and raised residents this crap has been going on for years. Those who moved here are getting sick of the nasty arrogant attitudes from those who think they have more of a say because they are born and raised here. Everyone that pays taxes in a town has the same rights. You are in denial if you think otherwise. Majority of the governor body always has been born and raised residents. Majority of their decision making has landed us where we are today. They are the ones with the arrogant behavior and uninterested attitude towards the residents. I haven't seen to many nasty people attacking the governing body and the few that did were born and raised residents. I have seen more attitude from the governor body. Who the heck does some of these individuals think they are? The residents are the ones who voted them in and they can easily be voted out.

Really? Speak up at meetings. It does not matter what the people have to say in both these towns or any other towns for that matter. They don't hear or care what the residents have to say. Its always what the few who want to do to ruin the towns is what matters.
