ReplyEvery time I see this house in the bay, it breaks my heart to think that someone's memories of a beach house are gone.

ReplyMartell's donated a ton of delicious food as well as their amazing staff. And yes the bands did play for free so they certainly deserve a huge shout out. Without the bands and Martell's, this event wouldn't have been possible.
Being the person that organized the event, I truly thank:
Martell's for donating the food and staff as well as hosting the event
Shore2Recover for partnering with me
Eight + Sixteen Music Studios for providing all band equipment
Bands - Under Pressure, Mike Dalton, Undisputed, E Street Shuffle, The Replicants, Punch Bully and The Bell Bottom Blues Band
ALL Silent Auction Donors
Magic Radio Group
Seashore Amusements for that super cool photo boothAnd we also need to thank all those that attended. Thanks for rocking out and helping raise money for a great group of kids!

@ Greg, I'm one of the beachfront homeowners and I (and my neighbors) welcome residents on the beaches. And FYI - my taxes are $41,000 per year. It doesn't matter if they go up, I can still afford to pay them. Hope you can pay yours too.

Mr Herbert thank you for not being argumentative. I truly appreciate that. I do not have a home on the barrier island. It is located at the end of Point Pleasant Beach.

ReplyReally Jennifer? Who mentioned anything about not wanting to share the beach with as you say "local peons"? My house is at the end of point beach and we sell beach badges so it's not totally private. Get over yourself and don't be so quick to judge.

ReplyI'm not blaming storm drains but I am saying I don't think our compromised situation helps any. By the way, our house is being fixed with no assistance from state or insurance as well as many others. Flood insurance isn't required when there is no mortgage.

ReplyThe comments don't bother me at all. Anyone who knows me would never say I'm snooty. If someone feels better namecalling, so be it.

Awesome exposure for the entire Jersey Shore area.
I love PPB tremendously, but it can't be a part of everything. There's no reason to be bitter as I'm sure the houses were submitted and then chosen based on location, need, etc.
On another note, maybe some of the PPB municipal employees and their committee members should learn to play nice and get along with everyone in town. Good things would come their way.
